After breaking lots of gardens (some by earthquakes) and observing the way big structures go up, the focus is on designing a strong frame that we can dress up anyway we want – similar to sky scrappers, bridges or even satellites. Wooden joints are not strong enough for the mechanical stresses involved and safety requirements so metal Simpson ties are used for all joints. The strength of the grow beds is in the metal brackets and there are about 30 of these in the garden.
